Skin allergies usually come with rashes but not all rashes are caused by allergens. When an allergen is responsible for triggering an immune response, it is termed as an allergic skin condition. The three most common immune-mediated skin allergies are atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis and urticaria. They share similar clinical features like redness, itchiness and inflammation. However, the management differs based on the pathophysiology underlying the skin allergy.
