Perioperative patients are at high risk of developing a thrombotic event, and multiple studies also highlight the two-way clinical association between venous thromboembolism (VTE) and cancer. At a symposium during the National Gynae-Oncology Conference 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Professor Roopen Arya discussed the importance of VTE risk assessment in the management and prevention of thrombotic events in perioperative patients, as well as patients with cancer.
