Worldwide, osteoporosis causes more than 8.9 million fractures annually, resulting in an osteoporotic fracture every 3 seconds. Osteoporosis is often referred to as a “silent” disease due to its lack of symptoms. Unfortunately, this results in many patients diagnosed with osteoporosis once a fracture has occurred, which is too late. There are cost effective, well-tolerated and effective treatments for osteoporosis.
