Overview

Course Summary

Antibiotics are commonly used to treat acne owing to their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. However, their overuse has led to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains of Cutibacterium acnes. Hence, it is important to emphasise the judicious use of antibiotics and consider alternative treatment options. Upon completing this module, participants will have a better understanding of the following aspects:

  • The implications of widespread antibiotic use in treating acne vulgaris
  • Non-antibiotic solutions
  • Other strategies for managing acne vulgaris
