About this course

Patient education is a crucial pillar in achieving better and ideal patient outcomes. For therapeutic management to be effective, educating patients about their illness diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options and side effects is key for patients to be able to build trust and rapport with their healthcare providers.

Medication counseling is a vital component of patient education. Its goal is not only to impart information but also to improve medication adherence by identifying barriers to compliance and addressing patient concerns.

This e-learning module discusses the important role that pharmacists play in medication counseling and provides some strategies on how to improve communication skills in empowering patients to actively manage their health in community pharmacy settings.
