Overview

About this course

Bleeding disorders such as hemophilia are underrecognized and underdiagnosed in women. Challenges such as lack of clarity in the definition of abnormal bleeding, poor access to specialized laboratory testing, and non-inclusion of women in hemophilia research are just some of the barriers to identification and appropriate management of women with bleeding disorders. In addition, iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is an issue to watch out for in these women with bleeding disorders.

This e-learning module discusses the problem in identifying women with bleeding disorders including those with concomitant iron deficiency anemia and the different solutions for its management.
