Overview

The goal of this learning activity is to provide doctors with a comprehensive review on the impact of vaccination as a preventive strategy against pneumococcal diseases in high-risk groups.

Upon completion of this module,participants will have a better understanding of:

  • The relevance of pneumococcal vaccination owing to the emergence of antibiotic resistance
  • Recommended pneumococcal vaccination schedules for young children and the elderly 
  • The impact of pneumococcal vaccination on invasive pneumococcal diseases
