Overview

About this course

Long COVID, a condition characterized by persistent symptoms lingering far beyond the acute phase of SARS-CoV-2 infection, has emerged as a formidable challenge in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. It profoundly impacts individuals and communities, reshaping quality of life and livelihoods detrimentally. More than 200 Long COVID symptoms have been reported affecting various organ systems that can be confused with other diseases, but a comprehensive history can aid in the diagnosis. With the pathophysiology of Long COVID remaining unclear despite several proposed theories on its mechanism, the present mainstay of Long COVID management is symptom control.

This e-learning module describes the intricacies of Long COVID, including prevailing hypotheses on its development, diagnostic and symptomatic management approach, and current proposed evidence-based proactive measures to prevent this COVID-19 sequelae.
