Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease characterised by pain, stiffness and loss of function. The goal of this learning activity is to provide doctors with a comprehensive review of knee OA and the role of symptomatic slow-acting drugs for osteoarthritis (SYSADOAs) in managing OA pain.
Upon completing this module, participants will have a better understanding of the following aspects:
• Epidemiology and burden of knee OA
• Classification and diagnosis of knee OA
• Pharmacological and nonpharmacological management of knee OA
• The role of SYSADOAs in managing knee OA
