Overview

Despite vaccines being one of the safest and most cost-effective healthcare interventions, there is a lack of awareness on the benefits of immunisation. This CPD module aims to provide general practitioners with updated information from the third edition of the Malaysian Society of Infectious Diseases and Chemotherapy (MSIDC) Guidelines for Adult Immunisation, highlighting the role of adult vaccination in addressing vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs).

Upon completing this module, participants will gain an understanding of the following:

• Reasons for vaccine hesitancy in Malaysia

• Burden of VPDs

• Bacterial and viral diseases: Management and prevention

• Strategies to prevent the spread of infectious diseases
