Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is the third most common cardiovascular disease after myocardial infarction and stroke. The goal of this learning activity is to provide pharmacists with a comprehensive review on the role of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in the management of VTE. 

Upon completing this module, participants will have a better understanding of the following:

● Epidemiology and burden of disease

● Anticoagulant therapy

● The efficacy and safety profile of NOACs in the acute and extended treatment of VTE
