Overview

About this course

The most common cause of jaundice in pregnancy is acute viral hepatitis. Viral hepatitis may present the same in pregnant and non-pregnant patients, but the overall impact on maternal and fetal health is important as perinatal transmission may occur in all types of hepatitis. Therefore, prevention, treatment, and control of infection during pregnancy is of paramount importance to prevent perinatal transmission. This e-learning module summarizes the epidemiology of Hepatitis A to E in the Asia-Pacific region, the impact of infection in the mother and child, and the particulars of management during pregnancy.
