Anxiety becomes a pathological disorder when it occurs for no detectable reason, persists and interferes with daily activities like work performance and relationships. Persons suffering from anxiety disorders face overwhelming anxiety from irrational thoughts, excessive physiological arousal and a persistent feeling of dread. As one of the most accessible points of contact in the community, community pharmacists have the opportunity to raise awareness, educate and identify early signs of depression and anxiety.
