Overview
Content:
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which encompasses ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, is emerging as an increasingly diagnosed condition in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region. Nonetheless, the diagnosis of IBD is often missed, resulting in a long-delayed period before appropriate treatment is instituted. Owing to the increasing complexity of patients’ condition, patients with IBD need careful and accurate assessment of their disease and an optimal management plan. This online CPD video presents the clinical features of IBD, along with its disease trajectory, and provides information on how to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and proposes a disease management guideline to facilitate clinical decision-making.
