About this course

The goal of this learning activity is to provide nurses with a concise review of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) – a general term to describe Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) – and strategies to manage this condition. Upon completing this module, participants will have a better understanding of the following aspects:
  • The differences between CD and UC
  • Disease progression and possible complications
  • Disease management
    • Pharmacotherapies
    • Surgical interventions
